Dr Pradeep Kocheeppan is one of the best orthopaedic doctor in Bangalore, obtained his MBBS degree from “University of Pune, Maharashtra, INDIA in 1998“. Upon graduation, he joined “Kerala University, Kerala, INDIA” for Diploma in Orthopaedics in 2001. Later in 2003, he secured DNB (Orthopaedics) by National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.

Dr Pradeep Kocheeppan, Post-doctoral fellowship in Hip & Knee Arthroplasty (Sancheti, Pune) has a professional experience of more than 18 years. He has distinguished as a well-known joint replacement surgeon, sports knee surgeon. He is the preferred Sport Surgeon for Indian Hockey team players and Athletes.

Career

  • Consultant arthroscopy and joint replacement surgeon at Apollo hospitals Bangalore from July 2012 till date.
  • Consultant arthroscopy and joint replacement surgeon in Fortis Bangalore from June 2011 to June 2012.
  • Fellowship in shoulder scopy 3 months with Dr Ashish Babulkar, pune from march 2011 to may 30 2011.
  • Fellowship in arthroplasties (6 months) with Dr.Sanjay Pai , Fortis, Wockhardt hospital, Bangalore from 5th August, 2010 till January 30 2011.
  • Fellowship in shoulder arthroscopy with Dr.Ashish Babhulkar, Pune from 26th July 2010 till 4th august 2011.

  • Trained on Shoulder Surgery under Dr Stefen Burkhart, Top Shoulder Surgeon, Texas, USA, in October 2019.

Areas of Special Interest

  1. Sports medicine – Presently attached to the South Centre of Sports Authority of India as top consultant and working closely with Indian hockey teams.
  2. Shoulder surgeon – Doing complete shoulder work from conservative care to reverse shoulder replacement.
  3. Conservation of knee and cartilage procedures.
  4. Special interest in trauma especially periarticular fractures hip, knee , shoulder and elbow joints . 14 yrs of trauma experience with approximately  15 -20 cases per month .

Present research work

  1. Study on use of Bone Marrow derived Mesenchymal cells in improving quality of repair of cartilage in knee after micro-fracturing a case series study.
  2. Study on benefits of Bone Marrow Concentrate in reducing incidence of Femoral Head Collapse in early AVN hip cases.
  3. Presently main work is in Shoulder surgeries, Knee arthroscopies and cartilage conservation along with deformity correction Osteotomies around Knee joint .
